-The Character-
Name:
Katu
Age:
4 Springs
Gender:
Female
Description:
Katu's eyes are a vibrant summer green, tinted lighter near her pupils. Her fur is a soft earth brown shade, tinted to look almost red. Tan lines the edges of this color. The brown covers her head and ears and travels in a strip to her nose. Around her eyes is white, but a thin line of brown comes under them from her nose to the sides of her face. The rest of her face is white. The line of brown stops at the sides of her neck and flows down her shoulders and stops at her elbow joint in the front. It travels along her sides leaving her underbelly white. Her thighs are brown until her heel on her hind legs. The top half of her tail is brown but the underside is white. Katu's wings are feathered, and the plumage is the color of a hawk's with white undersides and black dots scattered. Her build isn't dainty or small; she is a rather large and strong female. Her paws are big, and her legs fit them well, long and sturdy. Katu's chest is big to allow great breathing, and her hips are full and strong. She is fast and agile, and light despite her larger build.
Katu's temper almost always consists of cool-headedness, and a calm creature. She has little regrets in her life, and she is generally happy. She enjoys playing; she is still much a puppy inside, making her heart open and free as a bird. But she has her anger too, and she has a sharp tongue when it is needed. She isn't quick to judge, but can tell who the liars or who the untrustworthy are. She doesn't like secrets, but she's patient to get to know the wolf so that there won't be any. She is fierce in a battle and stubborn.
History:
Katu was born to the WindFire Wolf Pack in the western valley near the coast. Her mother and father are the alphas there. Her grandfather, Jheka, was very close to Katu while her parents were busy leading. She met a water-wolf, Sikoa, when she was three months old. They always had fun after dark while their packs slept, hunting and play fighting by themselves. Katu's older brother, Kinyu, also joined in on their games. However she became alone when humans invaded the territory and took shots at her and her brother. Jheka took a bullet for her, but it passed through and hit her in the skull. She and her brother left the pack, and Sikoa accompanied them after he had joined for a short while. For a time Jheka's spirit dwelled with Katu to heal and guide her, but recently Jheka left Katu because she was ready to be independent in his view.
Role playing Sample:
As rays of gold stretched further upwards toward the sky, the stars of the night began to fade, giving the last of their shine while they could and fighting a losing battle with the sun. The trees were painted in light as dawn drew morning further out. Shadows from the tree leaves rolled gently over the bristly back of a figure as it moved through the trees, white paws touching the leaf-strewn grass and then being picked up again lightly and quickly in an easy trot. Bushy tail swayed and tickled Katu's heels as she walked, briskly surveying the area as scents flooded her black nose. Ears pulled back to her head as a howl of sunrise greeting echoed in the trees from her throat, crisp, loud and full of bliss. Slowing, the wolf gazed around, her head low again. A smile tugged Katu's lips as she stared at the colorful hues that decorated the trees. Leaves fell in a veil about her, the green of her eyes mirroring their fluid movements. A wind pulled more leaves in a whirl about her, rustling her brown fur and whipping it into a bristly mess. Katu yipped with delight, her wings catching the breeze and the feathers ruffling as she spread them to feel the wind caress her. Such beauty was held in the Autumn morning, and the clear air sang to her, whispering encouragement for flight. She complied, leaping into a run, her wings open and flapping majestically. Katu lifted off the ground in a clearing, the air carrying her from the trees as her wings beat against it. Golden sunlight warmed her fur above the trees, the melody of the day praising her freedom and guiding her heart through the currents of wind.
