Aoni had taken the lead after he'd caught up with Sinta, and now he skidded to a stop with Rainscoft's signal, his sister scampering into his rear and leaping back in surprise. Her brother shot her a soft glare, but turned intently to his father as Katu paused gently near them. The pups turned their noses upward as instructed and inhaled short, quick breaths, taking the air in. "I smell it!" Sinta whispered excitedly, her tail wagging. Aoni showed a toothy puppy grin and his tail went wild as well. "It's so close!" He agreed in the same hushed tone being used. His head turned in the direction the breeze revealed the rabbit to be in and he growled quietly in anticipation for the lesson.

"Okay." Rainscoft crouched down. "Get as low as possible - and whisper." He waited for them to listen. "Now - the wind is blowing the rabbits scent toward us which means it can't smell us. Which also means we can suprise the rabbit."
He pointed to a small bush, where a small bit of brown fur could be seen. "That's where the rabbit is. When I say go, I want you to run as fast as you can toward the rabbit. If you can catch it before it get's to it's burrow jump on it's back or bite it's neck. Both will kill it instantly - and then you've made your first kill. That's Aoni's job. Sinta, I want you to sneak around so that you can confuse the rabbit if it tries to run for it's burrow - that means your going to chase it toward your brother. Got it? Wolves have to try and work together - even with the smallest of animals because the more help you have the easier the kill." Rainscoft smiled, letting the information sink into their minds before he would give them the signal. He would also have to wait for Sinta to get into position. "Sinta - hide behind that bush" He pointed to a bush a few feet away from where they were and much close to the rabbit. "And crawl along the ground very slowly."

Katu sat down nearby and smiled as she watched Rainscoft begin the lesson. Both Aoni and Sinta quickly dropped down onto their forelegs, bellies brushing the ground. They looked intently at their father, nodding. Then, peering toward the bush where the movement was coming from, grins spread across their faces again. Aoni returned his eyes to Rainscoft at his instructions, repeating them in his head. Sinta peered back at him as well, then nodded, and turning, she started crawling along the ground, her eyes watching the rabbit's movements carefully. Soon she was concealed behind the bush, and Aoni waited for his father to give a signal.
